Thousands of kids all over the planet are joining PETA’s
army of animal advocates – and here is where we shine
the spotlight on their hard work. Hey, kids, we know you do
good deeds because you care about animals, but it is OK to brag
a little about the ways you are making the world a better place
for our animal friends. Tell us how YOU help animals, and you
could be our featured Superstar of the Month!
Thousands of kids all over the planet are joining PETA India’s army of animal advocates – and this is where we get to shine the spotlight on their hard work. We know they do it because they care about animals and because they are making the world a better place for our animal friends. This month’s featured animal advocate is Nishiki Bhavnani, a 10th grade student at Ecole Mondale World School. She believes animals should be treated with respect and kindness.
Nishiki is an avid animal lover, and she is always busy motivating others to help animals in their own way. Knowing that a charitable organisation runs only on donations, she helped to raise funds for PETA India by selling calendars and T-shirts. To educate people about how animals suffer in zoos, she got her friends and other people she knows to sign a petition which she is forwarding to the Mumbai Zoo in the hope that it will improve the conditions in which animals are kept. Nishiki conducts animal rights workshops in her school and has organised stalls at fairs, where she gives out information about animal rights issues. Right now, Nishiki’s plans include spreading awareness about her own group, Concern for Animals, at different schools in the city. She has shown movies to students in her school on how animals are treated whilst being transported in the leather trade.
Nishiki is truly a superstar for her animal friends because she offers them hope and help! How about you? Are you a superstar for animals? Remember, you can improve, save and make a difference in animals’ lives in your own way.
