Thousands of kids all over the planet are joining PETA’s
army of animal advocates – and here is where we shine
the spotlight on their hard work. We know you do it because
you care about animals, and it is OK to brag a little about
the ways you are making the world a better place for our animal
friends. Tell us how YOU help animals, and you could be our
featured Superstar of the Month!
In
the city of Baroda lives 8-year-old Zubin Bhatt, who is PETA’s
Superstar Kid of the Month. A student of the Delhi Public School,
Zubin comes from a family of animal protectors and spends his
day tending to the abandoned animals who have made his house
their home. His home and his heart are open to all animals,
and among others, he takes care of a donkey, many kittens, eagles
and even a calf. Along with his mother, he actively helps rescue
animals, from snakes to baby crocodiles! Knowing that all animals
need to feel secure, Zubin is always careful not to put a rabbit
near an eagle, as that would scare the rabbit.
One day, Zubin heard a ruckus outside his window and was shocked
to see people trying to kill a snake who had found his way into
the building. He raced down and spoke to the people and helped
capture the snake humanely. Zubin realised that snakes are a
protected species and helped rehabilitate the reptile to go
back to his real home, the jungle.
Zubin
knows what to do when he is around his animal friends. He never
scares them or shouts at them – instead, he moves quietly
around them, leaving them in peace with plenty of food and water.
Whenever he rescues an animal, he makes sure a knowledgeable
person is there with him.
Not only that, Zubin is also busy spreading the word. He is
an active participant in an educational programme on snakes,
where he helps shatter superstitious myths that revolve around
snakes.
Zubin is truly a superstar for his animal friends! Now, how
about you? Are you a superstar for animals? Do you know someone
who is? We want to know!
