Thousands of kids from all over the planet are joining PETA’s
army of animal advocates – and here is where we shine
the spotlight on their hard work. We know that you do it because
you care about animals, and it is OK to brag a little about
the ways you are making the world a better place for our animal
friends. Tell us how you help animals, and you could be our
featured Superstar of the Month!
For Pallavi Arun Shah, a student of Standard IX in Chinmaya
Vidyalaya, Chennai, taking care of animals has always come naturally.
(The fact that she hails from a family of animal lovers is certainly
a bonus!) She always keeps her eyes and ears open for animals
who need care and attention.
One day, on her way home, she noticed a dog lying motionless
in the road. The dog looked helpless and was obviously pregnant.
Pallavi rushed her to the nearest veterinary hospital, where
she recuperated and gave birth to six adorable puppies! Pallavi
took the mother, Rani, home along with the puppies and put an
advertisement in the local newspaper to find loving homes for
the dogs. She did not rest until all of them had been taken
in. Soon after that, when Pallavi found a stray kitten with
a badly wounded paw, she fed the kitten, treated the injury,
and even managed to locate the kitten’s extremely happy
owners!
Pallavi has helped all kinds of animals, from cats and dogs
to cows! When it comes to animals, she does not play favourites
– she loves them all equally! Pallavi is certainly an
angel for animals. Now, how about you? Are you a superstar for
animals? Do you know someone who is? We would love to hear about
how you or your friends have helped animals!
